Our approach to medical information

At BCC we strive to meet the informational and resource needs of people dealing with breast cancer. Our goals are to address client concerns so that they feel informed and empowered to make difficult medical decisions, to serve as a complement to client medical care, and the information that clients receive from their doctors and nurses.

As clients and families become more knowledgeable about their breast cancer, they often find the fear and anxiety that accompanies a diagnosis can be significantly diminished.

We aim to:

  • Provide current comprehensive breast cancer resources, medical literature, and lending library.
  • Provide accessible, helpful information (one-on-one, group, annual conference) to clients leading to an increased understanding of treatment expectations, treatment options, and increased communication with their medical teams.
  • Encourage the use of medical and community resources, and educate clients (one-on-one and in groups) to encourage women to make breast health a priority.
