Welcome to Breast Cancer Connections (formerly Community Breast Health Project), a non-profit dedicated to providing information and support to people dealing with breast cancer or with breast health issues.
A San Francisco Bay Area Resource Center, our Helpline is staffed 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. at (650) 326-6686.
What's Happening at BCC
- We have a NEW look for our Program Calendar that we are very excited about! To view our current July/August Program Calendar, click here. To request a hardcopy, or multiple copies for medical/community resources, please call the Helpline at (650) 326-6686.
- The Newly Diagnosed Support Group, facilitated by Marcie Pais, MFT, is a drop-in group that meets every Saturday from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Support group members may use the library which houses an extensive collection of breast cancer reference materials, journals, circulating books, videos, audiotapes, and learn about the many programs/services BCC has to offer. Please contact BCCs' Helpline before attending for the first time at (650) 326-6686.
- Our first Fall Nutrition Two-Part Series will bring UCSF Cancer Center Dietician Greta Macaire and nationally-acclaimed author and chef Rebecca Katz to present on "Creating a Healthy Vegetarian Diet + Osteoporosis, Calcium & More (Part 1)" and "Cooking Solutions for Health and Healing (Part 2)." Greta will present on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from noon-2 p.m. and Rebecca will present on Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 10 a.m.-noon. For more details and downloadable flyer, click here.
- A special Enneagram Workshop will be led by Live A Life You Love's Cynthia Ridley, CPCC, on the 1st and 2nd Saturdays in September, 9/6 and 9/13 from 9:30 a.m.-12 noon (must attend both days). This is a 2-part workshop designed to provide an overview of the Enneagram, how to use it as a tool for self discovery and personal growth. Participants will learn about the nine Enneagram types, explore their own type, and experience tools for self growth. Call the Helpline for more details or to RSVP (650) 326-6686. What's Happening in the Community
- Two Survivorship Workshops will be presented by Buchholz Medical Group, the Integrative Oncology Network and El Camino Cancer Center. 1) "Becoming Whole Again: Integrating Care," on Saturday, October 25th, from 9:00-5:00 p.m. at Los Altos United Methodist Church's Creekside Conference Center (Magdalena and Foothill in Los Altos). 2) "Creative Healing: Healing from the Inside" on Sunday October 26 from 9:00 to 4:30 p.m. at El Camino Hospital in the back of the cafeteria (ground floor).
